Toy Story 5 Trailer Sets The Beloved Duo Versus a Tablet Computer
It has been 30 anniversary since the original Toy Story film was released, establishing Pixar as a major animation studio and bringing audiences to beloved figures like the cowboy doll (Tom Hanks) and the space ranger (the voice talent), who are now household names.
Coming in 2026, the next chapter is scheduled for release. The first teaser trailer for Toy Story 5 appeared recently, providing a glimpse into the plot but leaving fans wondering how it will address the conclusion of Toy Story 4.
Bonnie's New Toy: A Frog-Shaped Tablet Frightens the Toys
In the teaser reveals Bonnie — who inherited Andy's toys when he grew up — getting a brand new toy, one that terrifies Woody, Buzz, and the crew. Bonnie acquires her initial digital gadget, and she is thrilled about it.
Theoretically, the frog-shaped tablet will animate just like the rest of her playthings. Still, the characters seem to view it as a threat coming to replace them, which it likely will.
Woody's Return: Mysteries from Toy Story 4
One thing the teaser doesn't touch on is what Woody is back with his companions in the child's bedroom. The finale of Toy Story 4 depicted him embark on a new adventure with Bo Peep (Annie Potts), journeying with a fair and assisting giveaway items locate loving owners.
Surely, the filmmakers will address the consequences of Toy Story 4 in the movie. Seeing him appear in the familiar setting unexpectedly is somewhat puzzling, however. It also raises questions whether his partner will have returned with Woody. And what about Duke Caboom (the star)?
Connections from the Last Installment
At the very least, some elements are continuing from the earlier movie. The final act Woody did before setting off for his fresh path was pass his sheriff badge to the cowgirl (Joan Cusack), entrusting her in charge of the toy domain. The clip shows the insignia attached to her outfit.
It is hoped she is still the key figure among the toys.
Toy Story 5 arrives in theaters on the scheduled date.
